Food Photography – Market Day In Aix En Provence

We were lucky enough to arrive in Aix En Provence on market day.  I will say that I was rather dissapointed in the lack of pastries they had for sale…I’ve seen more in the Little Italy market in San Diego.  Maybe it’s a sign!  There were of course heaps of other goodies available – fruit, veggies, unrefrigerated eggs baking in the sun (no thanks), blocks of cheese bigger than our car, meats, fish, olives, spices, and bread.  All of the parisians show up rolling their baskets while all of the tourists walked around oggling with their hands and mouths full:)I plucked a fig off a tree the other day while watching Mom try to back our car down a hill that I refused to try and do myself…last summer Nicole and I robbed fig trees clean of their fruit in Greece.  There is just something so exciting about picking fruit from trees…or maybe it’s just us:)I thought of your fabulous tomatoes Aunt Barbara when I saw these!  Wish I had a garden like yours!Garlic galore!  I should really look into growing garlic considering I use heads of it daily. It is so hard to control yourself while walking through a market in Europe…it is rather overwhelming for your eyes and stomach!  Food photography has officially taken on an entirely different meaning.
